Lyrics: Else Lasker Schüler (translation byDiyarisan)
Music: Diyarisan

¿Me Ves? (Do you see me?) is the first single of the new album "The Acrobat" by Diyarisan (will be published in 2023).

A text by Else Lasker Schüler (1869-1945), the German-Jewish lyricist, was set to music. In it, as in the later album, it is about the acrobatic efforts of balancing one's emotional situation in the relationship between two people, the search for and finding of happiness and its rapid evanescence.

Diyarisan is a composer living in Germany with multi-European roots who has made cultural fusion his program. Diyarisan juggles like an acrobat with influences such as 12-tone music, Georgian vocal music, flamenco, jazz, Anatolian and Karelian rhythms. The music is about connecting to listening habits by combining musical structures, but also breaking them and taking the listener along in a firework of ideas, only to trick or laugh at him with absurd connections in the next moment. The drums were played by Buelyd, who also produced the song.

lyrics

¿Me ves?
(Lyrics by Else Lasker Schüler - translation below)

¿Entre la tierra y el cielo?
Nadie se ha cruzado en mi camino.

Pero tu cara calienta mi mundo,
De ti florecen todas las cosas.

5
Cuando me miras
Mi corazón se endulza

Estoy debajo de tu sonrisa
Y aprende a prepararte día y noche,

Para conjurarte y hacerte perecer,
10
Siempre juego al único juego.

Do you see me

Between earth and sky?
No one has ever crossed my path.

But your face warms my world,
From you all things flourish.

When you look at me
My heart grows sweet

I lie beneath your smile
And learn to prepare day and night,

To conjure you up and make you fade away,
Always playing the one game.

about

Diyarisan Husum, Germany

Diyarisan's music follows the compositional concept of Russian composer Nikolaj Andreevic Roslavec (1880-1944). A six-note "synthetic chord" and its transposition form the tonal space for melodic and harmonic development, with additions to the 12-note scale forming breaks and musical interjections. The music deliberately plays with echoes of jazz, Middle Eastern folk music, and rock music. ... more
